Connie Kamps is responsible for overseeing site management of Hunt Midwest’s real estate developments, including SubTropolis, the world’s largest underground business complex. She also manages the SubTropolis Foreign Trade Zone, tenant relations, lease renewals, expansions, and special events direction. 

Connie has more than four decades of real estate experience, all with Hunt Midwest, beginning in 1982 when she joined the company’s then-entertainment division as a marketing representative for Worlds of Fun. She moved to the real estate division in 1985 to work in sales and public relations and ultimately became director of property management in 1998 overseeing SubTropolis and portions of Hunt Midwest Business Center. Under her leadership, SubTropolis has more than doubled in size to 7.8 million square feet of industrial space that is now home to more than 55 companies with more 3,000 employees. 

Connie is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) with the Institute of Real Estate Management and is a past president of the organization’s Kansas City chapter. She is a past member of the Kansas City Commercial Real Estate Women and is a past member of the Kansas City Foreign Trade Zone board of directors, the Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors, the Underground Developer’s Association, and the National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives. 

Connie also serves as Hunt Midwest’s lead manager of the annual Groundhog Run 5K/10K race benefiting Ability KC’s Mary Shaw Branton Therapeutic Preschool. Since 1982, the annual fundraiser has been held entirely underground at SubTropolis and has raised more than $5.5 million for children receiving educational and therapeutic services at Ability KC. Connie served on the Ability KC board of directors for 15 years and was a 2023 recipient of the nonprofit’s prestigious Impact Award. 

Born and raised in Kansas City, Connie earned a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and personnel management from Southwest Missouri State University, now known as Missouri State University. She is an avid animal lover and longtime volunteer puppy raiser for KSDS Assistance Dogs. Connie and her husband, Paul, reside in Kansas City, Missouri
