Shawnee, KS — June 19, 2025 — Standard Motor Products, Inc. unveiled a new, state-of-the-art national distribution center this week at Heartland Logistics Park Building II in Hunt Midwest’s growing industrial park at K-7 and 43rd Street in Shawnee, Kansas.

Hunt Midwest constructed the 574,732-square-foot, cross-dock facility as a spec-to-suit logistics hub to increase Standard Motor Products’ distribution capacity nationwide and accommodate the most advanced warehouse management technologies.

Heartland Logistics Park offers businesses a strategic location capable of reaching 282 million consumers within two-day shipping. The park is less than a half-mile from K-7, which provides access to Interstate 70, Interstate 435, and Interstate 35 within minutes. Situated directly across K-7 from an Amazon last-mile fulfillment center and two major FedEx Ground Freight hubs, the park allows tenants to have first-stop, last-stop capabilities.

“We’re proud to welcome Standard Motor Products to Heartland Logistics Park and we’re eager to see the new Shawnee facility play a crucial role in their ongoing growth nationwide,” said Mike Bell, Hunt Midwest senior vice president. “That a company of this caliber would invest here is a testament to the location, labor, and logistics advantages that our site can provide companies relocating or expanding here in the Kansas City region.”

Standard Motor Products celebrated its new Building II operations at a ribbon cutting ceremony this week with Hunt Midwest, the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, City of Shawnee leaders, and members of the local business community.

“We are excited to fully open our new Shawnee distribution center that will expand our capacity, improve turnaround times and provide automation efficiencies for our customers ensuring our supply chain efforts keep pace with their growing demand,” said Eric Sills, Standard Motor Products’ Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “We thank all those involved in helping get this new state-of-the-art distribution center launched on time and look forward to the benefits Shawnee will bring to Standard, our customers, our employees, and the community.”

Standard Motor Products relocated its Edwardsville, Kansas, facility to Heartland Logistics Park Building II to leverage the site’s location and logistics advantages to improve its national distribution operation and expand the overall capacity of its parts distribution network. Building II also offers 200,000 more square feet than the prior Edwardsville location, supports more advanced warehouse management technology, and enhances employee, customer, and supplier experiences alike.

The first parts began shipping through the Shawnee facility in 2024 and the HLP Building II facility will be fully operational by the end of the year.

“Shawnee is thrilled to welcome Standard Motor Products to our growing roster of forward-thinking companies that recognize the strategic advantages our community offers, from access to a skilled workforce to unmatched connectivity throughout the metro,” said Ann Smith-Tate, President and CEO of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Council. “Heartland Logistics Park and the City of Shawnee continue to drive progress and opportunity for the region.”

Heartland Logistics Park is now home to two leading automotive parts companies, featuring Standard Motor Products operating in Building II and LKQ Corporation leasing 530,455 square feet of Building III, completed earlier this year.

Building III features 323,850 square feet of spec-to-suit space available for lease immediately through Ed Elder and John Stafford of Colliers. Build-to-suit options also are available for the remainder of the park for users up to 187,200 square feet.
