NE 48th Street Extension

The extension of NE 48th Street opened the final phase of development at Hunt Midwest Business Center, connecting the road’s existing access to Interstate 435 east to N Arlington Avenue and completing the road network across the 2,500-acre megasite.

The $16.3 million project also included the construction of a new 300-foot-long, three-span precast concrete bridge and more than three quarters of a mile of new water mains.

The new road and water connections will support construction on the final phase of Hunt Midwest Business Center, already underway, including about 2.6 million square feet of additional Class A industrial space and a new north entrance to SubTropolis, the world’s largest underground business complex located directly below the business center.
