Twin Creeks Area Sewer Improvement

The Twin Creeks Area Sewer Improvement is a $57M infrastructure project providing 10.5 miles of sanitary sewer and two new pump stations to a 15,000-acre doughnut hole of land straddling Clay and Platte Counties. With the availability of sanitary sewers, the Twin Creeks region, set between U.S. 169 and I-29 on the east and west and I-435 and MO-152 on the north and south, is anticipated to attract upwards of 75,000 new residents and an immeasurable amount of private investment over the next 20–30 years.

Hunt Midwest, in collaboration with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, TIF Commission, Kansas City Water Services Department and MD Management, formed a public/private partnership to bring this much needed infrastructure to the Northland and complete a project that had been on the drawing board for over 50 years. As general contractor overseeing construction within the First Creek watershed, Hunt Midwest encountered challenges such as boring under I-435 and securing easements from property owners allowing crews access to lay the sewer pipe through their land.
