
Nick Gietzen oversees the 24/7 security and safety operations at Hunt Midwest Business Center and SubTropolis, the world’s largest underground business complex.
Nick joined Hunt Midwest in 2025 and has 18 years of experience in private armed and unarmed security services. He leads the security team’s day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe and secure environment for the more than 3,000 tenant employees working at SubTropolis. He also helps coordinate with partner law enforcement, fire response, emergency services, and federal agencies.
Nick also helps coordinate security for the annual Groundhog Run 5K/10K benefiting children at Ability KC’s Mary Shaw Branton Therapeutic Preschool. The charity race, held entirely underground at SubTropolis, attracts thousands of runners and visitors and has been held every year since 1982.
