After bringing the Kansas City Chiefs Football Club to Kansas City in 1963, Lamar Hunt wanted to reinvest in the local community that embraced the team. Lamar created an operating company that ultimately included real estate, entertainment and mining activities. With the merger of Great Midwest Corporation and Mid-America Enterprises in 1985, Hunt Midwest Enterprises was created.
Today, the Lamar Hunt family legacy continues. Hunt Midwest is one of the Kansas City area’s largest full-service real estate development firms. Hunt Midwest focuses on ground-up development of projects ranging from industrial, commercial, and self-storage to multi-family, senior housing and master-planned residential communities. With over one billion dollars of development projects in Kansas City and Dallas/Fort Worth, Hunt Midwest has grown exponentially since 1985.
