Aaron Schmidt is responsible for planning, designing, and developing Hunt Midwest’s master-planned residential communities across the Kansas City metro and its senior living facilities across the country. He also manages the development of the $2.5 billion, 3,300-acre KCI 29 Logistics Park megasite and Hunt Midwest’s infrastructure services with more than $150 million in public projects. 

Aaron has more than 25 years of planning and construction experience, including almost two decades with Hunt Midwest. He has managed the development, design, and construction of more than 1,500 residential lots across the Kansas City area and created Hunt Midwest’s infrastructure services division more than 15 years ago, overseeing construction of many public infrastructure projects. He leads the team developing KCI 29 Logistics Park, which will create 20 million square feet of new industrial facilities, 9,000 jobs, and raise $2 million for a new Northland Career Center over the course of its development. He also led the market identification, land acquisition, entitlement, and design for Hunt Midwest’s $100 million expansion of its senior living platform into three new states. 

Aaron was named a 2023 NextGen Leader by the Kansas City Business Journal. He currently serves on the board of the Platte County Economic Development Council, as chairman of the KCI TIF Advisory Committee, on the Northland Transportation Committee, and on the North Kansas City Hospital Philanthropic Advisory Council. 

Aaron earned a bachelor’s degree in urban planning from Missouri State University in Springfield. Outside of work, he enjoys playing guitar in his band, which plays covers of everything from classic rock to hip hop. He, his wife Angi, and their family reside in Kansas City, Missouri.
