Land acquisition creates opportunity for largest logistics park in the State of Missouri

Kansas City, MO — March 30, 2022 — Hunt Midwest recently closed on the acquisition of over 1,300 acres located adjacent to the Kansas City International Airport in Kansas City, Missouri. The property is contiguous with roughly 2,000 acres already owned by Hunt Midwest. Its addition results in nearly 3,300 acres under a single ownership for development of the largest logistics park in the State of Missouri.

The recently dubbed KCI 29 Logistics Park, will support up to 18 million square feet of Class A logistics and manufacturing space along with 20 plus acres of commercial mixed-use. It has the potential to attract over 8,000 employees with an overall capital investment of nearly $1.3 billion over the next decade. Its highly accessible location provides immediate access to KCI Air Cargo operations and Interstates 29 and 435 via the Mexico City Interchange. Area infrastructure is robust with available onsite transmission level power, a transmission waterline, and a wastewater treatment plant.

National users have seen transportation costs increase exponentially leading them to seek additional distribution facilities to help cut costs while maintaining their ability to reach a maximum amount of the U.S. population in the shortest time.  KCI 29 Logistics Park will offer users the ability to reach 90% of the U.S. population in two days via truck, or overnight via air freight. Tenants will be attracted to the central location and proximity to logistics drivers such as KCI Air Cargo operations, which includes hubs for UPS, FedEx, and USPS. Another advantage for tenants is the opportunity to be close to the manufacturers they supply.
