JUSTIN WHITE

Assistant Vice President
Operations

Justin White is responsible for the daily operations of SubTropolis, the world’s largest underground business complex, as well as the Hunt Midwest surface industrial portfolio across the U.S. Ensuring the company’s properties are occupied and well-maintained, he leads a full-spectrum operations team to implement strategy and tactics as they relate to tenant relationships, property management, capital projects, maintenance, and safety and security.

Justin joined Hunt Midwest in 2018 and has more than two decades of experience in operations, customer service, facilities, and leadership management. Within SubTropolis, he has helped grow the facility from 6 million square feet to almost 8 million square feet, leading the property operations team’s management of the unique characteristics of underground industrial space for more than 62 tenants and their almost 3,000 employees. He has played an important role in developing new methods for milling shale to facilitate SubTropolis’ ongoing expansion and leads all capital projects. Those efforts have included facility-wide, multiyear life safety system upgrades, a SuperWiFi underground communications network, and other technology, system and process improvements. He also led the design and development of the company’s new corporate office in Kansas City’s Crossroads arts district and the growth and reorganization of its facilities and security teams to better serve tenants above and below ground. As Hunt Midwest’s industrial footprint continues to grow beyond the Kansas City market, Justin also is responsible for the industrial buildings and tenant relationships in Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Florida. Prior to joining Hunt Midwest, he led the Operations at Kansas City’s Starlight Theatre, one of the nation’s oldest and largest premier outdoor concert and theatrical venues, where he rose from intern to vice president of operations.

Justin is a member of the Powell Gardens board of directors and the Starlight Theatre facilities committee. He is a certified Guest Services Professional, an associate member of the Institute of Real Estate Management, and a previous member of the International Association of Venue Managers and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. He also has completed Disney Institute courses in leadership, management, and customer service.
