Bordering historic downtown North Kansas City at E. 32nd Avenue and Swift Street, Northgate Village is a 91-acre, master-planned redevelopment project offering single family and multifamily housing, seniors housing and neighborhood friendly retail space. Selected by the City of North Kansas City, Hunt Midwest formed a unique public/private partnership with the municipality to develop 213 single family, patio home and rowhome lots, providing the first opportunity in decades for modern housing to be built within the City.
Hunt Midwest worked closely with a chosen homebuilder to design and construct homes that aligned with existing architecture in the area by incorporating classic, four-sided architecture, rear garages with alley entryways, traditional home facades and cohesive exterior paint color palettes. A grid-like street layout throughout the community promotes walkability and connectivity to surrounding parks, schools, community centers and downtown North Kansas City. Six pocket parks, themed brick entry monuments, ornamental street lighting, park benches and street trees complete the neighborhood’s nostalgic look.
The Urban Land Institute named Hunt Midwest a Developer of Distinction for the Northgate Village development, one of the region’s first neo-traditional infill redevelopment projects and perhaps the most successful in the Kansas City metro.
